The Navajo County Fair & Rodeo will be celebrating its 85th year. The Navajo County Fair is home to numerous events throughout the year with the largest one being the Navajo County Fair September 14-18, 2016. We are proud to announce EMERSON DRIVE will be performing on Saturday night! Branch & Dean will be their opening act. We will also have live music from Moonshine Mafia and Harry Luge. We welcome back Frazier Shows of America carnival and they will be bringing their most requested rides. They are the largest State Fair quality carnival in Navajo County. This year's entertainment will include: the Rodeo, Demolition Derby, Jr. Miss Pageant, Little Buckaroo Rodeo, Open Jr. Rodeo, Open Class Exhibits and Demonstrations, Jr. Livestock Show and Auction, 4-H Horse Show, Small Stock Show and Exhibits, Farmer Phil, Poppin' Penelope, Freddie Prez Entertainment Zone and Reptile Adventures. Along with Food Booths, Vendors plus much, much more. The Rodeo Entertainment includes Top PRCA Bucking Stock from Honeycutt Rodeo Company, PRCA Barrelman Troy "Wild Child" Lerwill, PRCA Specialty Act Tomas Garcilazo, PRCA Rodeo Announcer Jody Carper and a live video scoreboard with instant replays.
Attendance to this five day event was over 25,000 in 2014.
The first Navajo County Fair & Rodeo was held in 1931. Navajo County Fair, Inc. strives to advance the agricultural, homemaking, educational, cultural, esthetic and scientific interests of the residents of Navajo County. We also promote the competitive exhibition of farm products, livestock, home economics, and other material. There is nothing "Greener" than a County Fair.
The Navajo County Fairgrounds is located in Northern Arizona off of Interstate 40 in Holbrook. The facility sits on 80 acres and consists of a 350' x 250' rodeo arena with grandstand, a 250' x 170' warm-up arena, Jr. Livestock show ring and pens, an open class building, a commercial exhibit hall, stage, concession stands, boarding stalls and much more. The population of Navajo County is approximately 125,000. The overall demographics of the county are mostly Caucasian and Native American. Navajo County is the home of the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Monument Valley, White Mountains and much more. We are 3 1/2 hours West of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and 3 hours north of Phoenix, Arizona. In order to host an event the size of the Annual Navajo County Fair & Rodeo, it requires monetary donations and volunteers. In 2014 we had over 385 volunteers donate their time to our organization. We are a non-profit 501c-4 organization.
The Navajo County Rodeo draws some of the top riders in the country and we hire PRCA Entertainment (Specialty Acts, Barrel Man and Announcer). The Navajo County Rodeo is Voted # 1 Rodeo in Arizona.
